The House
The heart of iSlow is a traditional stone farmhouse, built around 1915. For most of its life it was a working farm — a place where animals were kept, food was grown, and the land around it was tended by the people who lived there.
The house belonged to Inés’s great-grandfather, Severino do Perito, who came from the nearby village of Borneiro and married Carmen. When Carmen passed, Severino took care of the house and the small farm, and it stayed in the family for generations — passing to Inés’s parents, Lucha and Antonio, and now to Inés herself.
In 2022, Inés and Julio opened the house to the world as iSlow — a rural coliving for people who want to work, slow down, and belong somewhere for a while. Not a hotel. Not a hostel. A house with a history, shared with people who appreciate that.
Severino was a social, energetic person — the kind who drew people in. We like to think he would have loved what the house has become: a place that welcomes travellers from all over the world.
Three generations, one house. We didn't discover this place. We grew up in it.
Your Room
Six private rooms, each different. All have en-suite bathrooms, a proper desk for working, heating and air conditioning, and weekly cleaning. Bed linen, towels and toiletries are included.
We keep the number of guests small — a maximum of 15 at a time — so the house never feels crowded, and you always know the people you share it with.
The Kitchen
The kitchen is the centre of the house. Fully equipped and shared — which means some of the best conversations happen here, between someone making coffee at 8am and someone reheating leftovers at midnight.
Bread, tea, coffee, seasonal fruit, and cooking basics are always stocked. Meals are yours to cook as you like, with a dining table big enough for everyone — and an outdoor one for when the weather allows.
Common Spaces
The house has generous shared areas: a living room, reading corners, a terrace, and a long dining table that’s seen more than a few memorable meals.
Outside, there’s a BBQ area, a yoga deck, a forest to walk through, and land to grow things. Parking is free. The laundry (washer and dryer) is shared.
Work Here Too
600mbps internet throughout the house. A dedicated coworking space with desks and chairs. A call room you can book for private meetings. Your bedroom has a desk if you need to close the door. The garden has a table if you need to be outside.
The setup is simple and it works. Most guests are remote workers — it’s been tested.

Our Surroundings
iSlow sits 1 km from the centre of Laxe, one of the liveliest towns on the Costa da Morte, in A Coruña, Galicia — surrounded by a 25,000m² plot of land and a large hill from which many paths lead down to pristine beaches.
The coastline outside the door is one of the least-visited stretches of the Atlantic. Wild beaches, cliffs, lighthouses. Two long-distance trails pass nearby — the Camiño dos Faros and the Via Céltica — if you want to walk further.
Laxe has a surf break, Soesto.
The water is cold. It’s worth it.
